@tamreezi tagged me for #tenonmytbr and for once, I actually stuck to the assigned number, though I will mention the three books not featured in this stack, which I will be reading soon; Anis Kidwai's In the Shadow of Freedom, Aanchal Malhotra's Remnants of Separation, and The Iliad. The Iliad is in my son's room and he is still asleep, and I am a mom who knows better than to barge into a teenage kid's room. The other two I still have to order. I am just giving my credit card a bit of a break. Here's the stack:Indonesia Etc by Elizabeth Pisani - a book I have been meaning to read for the past four years ever since I bought it from my father and then "borrowed it permanently" back from him, after he read it. 😁The Twice Born by @aatishalitaseer - I heard him discuss this book with CBC Radio's Writers and Company host Eleanor Wachtel. I am star struck by both and completely addicted to Writers and Company.Island of a Thousand Mirrors by Nayomi Munaweera is the book I will read next because of the lovely @whimsicallibrary Minaret by Leila Aboulela - I see myself bumping this one up towards the top of my pile. The Beauty Myth by Naomi Wolf is another book I can't get to fast enough.East of Eden by John Steinbeck - I hang my head in shame - I bought this because of @inbookishfashion but have yet to get to it.The Leopard by Guiseppe Di Lampedusa - One of those books I want to read but feel just a wee bit scared. The Best Short Stories of Fyodor Dostoevsky - If you know me then you know I love Dusty.Red Birds by Muhammad Hanif - Would you believe that this gorgeous signed copy has just been sitting around neglected all this while? Shame on me.The Odyssey by Homer - As it turns out no one actually knows who wrote The Iliad or The Odessey but Homer sounds better than Anonymous. Interesting that one of the greatest writers of all time is someone anonymous, and yet his or her words are still alive and receiving love, while the writer has long been forgotten.
a.book.caravan Loving the stack! 😍
a.book.caravan I’ll definitely assemble my stack and show it off tomorrow 😁😘
between.bookends What a great stack of titles you got here! Island of a Thousand Mirrors is a solid read. It’s devastating at times but a great book. Many of the others you have here are on my TBR as well. 😬

aestheticfrenetic what a beautiful collection <3
maahinblog I want to read Twice Born! 🙌 I am still regretting the fact that I did not go see Taseer when he came to Toronto in Feb (especially considering that I am such a Pakistani history & politics buff, and the tickets were free). Ironically, I used to be in that library all the time in 2018. Ahhhuniversity!
unwildrumpus Quite the list! I’ll put together my pile soon too! It’s a constantly evolving one 😥
bluestockingbookshelf East of Eden! I started reading it a few days ago, but I think it’s going to stretch into next month.
